Foreign Trade Steel Company Collaborates with Overseas Clients for On-Site Inspection, Large-Diameter Steel Pipe Quality Highly Recognized

2026-03-17

Gdd Steel Company, located in the Henan Industrial Park, recently welcomed a group of special visitors—a procurement delegation from the Middle East. During the two-day on-site inspection, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the quality, thickness, and delivery process of a batch of large-diameter steel pipes. The inspection was successfully completed, and loading was arranged, laying a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.

“This batch of steel pipes’ wall thickness and surface treatment fully meet our engineering requirements.” At the warehouse site, foreign technical director Abdul, holding a thickness gauge, gave a thumbs-up to his colleagues after re-inspecting a silver-gray steel pipe with a diameter of 1.2 meters. According to Li Qiang, manager of the company’s foreign trade department, this cooperation project involves a supporting order for a large-scale infrastructure project in the Middle East, totaling 500 tons of large-diameter seamless steel pipes. “The client has extremely high requirements for the pipes’ pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, so we specially arranged a transparent, full-process inspection.” On-site, neatly stacked pipes awaited inspection, with slight rust marks on the surface but smooth and even weld seams and a bright metallic luster.

During the inspection, Gdd Steel’s technical team accompanied the delegation throughout, using ultrasonic thickness gauges, spectral analyzers, and other equipment to conduct multi-point sampling tests on the pipes. “We randomly select five positions on each pipe to measure wall thickness, strictly controlling the error within ±0.5 millimeters,” explained quality inspector Wang while operating the instruments. Data showed that the measured wall thickness of this batch of pipes met the contract requirement of 12.5 millimeters, and the chemical composition complied with API 5L international standards.

The foreign representatives highly recognized the inspection process: “We have encountered suppliers who pass off inferior products, but Gdd’s open attitude and rigorous approach give us confidence.” Notably, a pressure test simulating extreme conditions was also conducted on-site, with the pipes remaining intact under 1.5 times the design pressure, further alleviating the client’s concerns.

Although there was a language barrier, communication through drawings and data was seamless. To facilitate communication, the company prepared bilingual technical parameter sheets in Chinese and English in advance and arranged for bilingual engineers to participate throughout. During discussions on the pipe lifting plan, the foreign side proposed using “soft slings + multi-point fixation,” a suggestion that aligned perfectly with the company’s safety protocols, and both parties quickly reached a consensus.

Behind this efficient collaboration lies Gdd Steel’s years of experience in international markets. In recent years, the company has gradually established a sales network covering more than 20 countries by participating in exhibitions such as the Canton Fair and the Middle East’s Big 5 exhibition, offering customized services to meet the needs of clients in different regions.

After the inspection, flatbed trucks loaded with steel pipes slowly departed from the warehouse. Each truck was equipped with shock-absorbing pads at the bottom and reinforced with steel cables around the carriage to ensure long-distance transportation safety. Full insurance coverage was provided from packaging to logistics, and clients could track the cargo’s location in real-time via GPS. This batch of steel pipes will be shipped by sea to Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port, with an estimated arrival time of 15 days.

Before leaving, Abdul, on behalf of the delegation, presented Gdd Steel with a pennant inscribed in Arabic: “Quality as Solid as Steel, Cooperation as Warm as Friendship.” “This collaboration has shown us the strength of ‘Made in China,’ and we look forward to deeper cooperation in more fields in the future,” he said.

From workshop production to port delivery, Gdd Steel consistently upholds the principle of “quality first, customer foremost” in every step. The successful cooperation with Middle Eastern clients not only highlights the company’s competitiveness in the high-end pipe sector but also sets a positive example for Chinese enterprises going global. Behind every steel pipe lies our solemn commitment to global customers.
